Hello, Fiendlings. It’s time! That’s right. Last night I received word from Severed Press that the third book in The Black series will be available in the Amazon store sometime Thursday or Friday (depending on when Amazon actually approves the ebook). This means that in a little over 24 hours or so, you’ll be able to order The Black: Outbreak.
Here’s the back cover copy to give you some idea of what to expect.
When a Centers for Disease Control quarantine fails at Ben Taub Hospital, a Houston SWAT Team is sent in to secure the facility. What they find is destruction and death. Trapped in the hospital, cut off from the world, a mysterious voice on the radio is all they have to guide them. They’re no longer on a mission to quarantine the remaining inhabitants. Instead, they have to destroy a multiplying menace that could infect the world before the Federal Government enacts a final solution.
Outbreak is a standalone, parallel story to both the 2015 Parsec Award Winning Novel The Black and The Black: Arrival. A winning mashup of action and horror, Outbreak is a suspenseful thriller that will keep you guessing at what’s around the next corner.
Sound like fun? I’ve no details yet on when the trade paperback will be available, but I imagine it will be in the next week or two. Which is also around the same time the podcast presentation for Outbreak will begin.
I’ll be posting a ton of information on social media about actual dates, times, and etc as well as delivering a new update to the mailing list. This is exciting for me and hopefully for those of you that enjoyed the first two installments and want to learn more about the creature. Outbreak is the last of the parallel stories and can be read as a standalone story, or as a continuation of the series. Up to you. So whether you’re new to the series or have been a reader from the very beginning, Outbreak will answer some questions as well as ask some new ones.
I haven’t been able to get this book out of my head and I’ve already started writing the fourth book in the series. What’s so special about the fourth book? We’ll find out the answer to the most commonly asked question: What is the black?
So expect another blog post tomorrow or Friday and pay attention to the podcast feed. The next book is here and I can’t wait for you to read it.
