Howdy, folks. Just a little update on the second book in the Derelict Saga. The manuscript is in the publisher’s hands, their editors doing what they do. I’m expecting the final manuscript changes back within the next two weeks with publication following a few days after I return them.
This means that Derelict: Tomb will most likely see publication by the end of the month, or the first week of June at the latest. That’s the bad news.
The good news is that the multimedia version of the audiobook will be available for sale from my site before it appears on Audible.com. So if you finish Derelict: Marines and want to listen to the next installment of the tale, you’ll be able to do so as quickly as possible.
I’ll be posting cover art for the new book as soon as it’s in my inbox.
Earlier this year, my pal and writing companion, Indiana Cooley passed away. Last year, my long-time little son Jonathan Irving Cat was lost as well. This weekend, we finally brought in a new Fiend to shore up the numbers. I present to you: Shadow Fiend. He’s only 13 weeks old and is keeping me VERY busy. When he gets comfortable enough, I imagine he’ll be hanging off my shoulder like a parrot while I write and code. I look forward to that.
For those of you that’ve been listening to the podcast presentation of The Black, I’d like some feedback from you regarding the music I play for certain scenes in the book. Whenever the narrator takes us down to the ocean floor, I have a piece of music (thank you Kevin McLeod) that I play. Is it effective? Does it distract from the narration, or does it add to it?
Wondering about this because I plan on continuing to use the same score for the rest of those type scenes. Also considering mood music for later in the book. This will be doubly important when the book is released via audible.
So, kids, if you’ve been paying attention, you know that The Black was supposed to go on sale today for 99¢. However, that didn’t happen. Evidently there was some miscommunication between Bookbub, Amazon, and my publisher. Therefore, the promotion has been pushed back to January 16th. I’ll update the information in the next podcasts for Legends of Garaaga and The Black.
